Christina Keating has been named Assistant Principal at the Henniker Community School. Christina comes to HCS from Hopkinton Middle High School where she has been an English teacher since 2020.
“We are very excited for Christina to join our team at the Henniker Community School,” commented HCS Principal Matthew Colby. “Her experience with competency-based learning and her understanding of the developmental needs of middle school students will be an asset to our learning community.”
“I am thrilled and honored to be the new Assistant Principal at HCS,” said Keating about her new post. “I have taught English for the past twelve years to an array of ages and a diversity of learners, and I look forward to my new position as an administrator. In my new role, I will have more opportunities to help improve student learning, connect to the community, communicate with parents/guardians, and support faculty in their educational choices,” she continued.
In addition to teaching English in Hopkinton, she also taught English at Winnisquam Regional High School and was a classroom teacher at Wediko School. She holds a Bachelor’s of English with 5-12 teaching certification from Keene State College and General Special Education Certification from Granite State College.
Christina Keating lives in Concord with her husband, son, and dog. She and her family love the outdoors and can often be found hiking a mountain, disc golfing, rafting the Merrimack River, or camping off the Kancamagus Highway. She is also an avid runner who enjoys participating in local races. “I also appreciate a good book,” said Keating, and welcomes recommendations.
