Student Services

What is the Student Services Department?
The SAU 24 Student Services Department oversees the students in Henniker, Weare and Stoddard in grades PreK-12 who are homeless, English language learners (ELL), and those who have disabilities and are served under a Section 504 plan or an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

The McKinney-Vento Education Act requires that state and local educational agencies remove any barriers that limit the ability of a student experiencing housing difficulties to enroll, attend and succeed in school.  SAU 24 ensures that students experiencing homelessness have access to the same free, appropriate public education as their permanently housed peers.   Each SAU 24 school has a homeless liaison that manages the enrollment, identification, and educational services of homeless children and youth in compliance with the McKinney-Vento Education Act.

SAU 24 ensures that students with educational disabilities are provided with a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).  All students within our district are integrated into regular education classrooms and programs to the maximum extent appropriate.  We believe that all students can learn and offer a continuum of services and alternative learning environments to meet the needs of students with disabilities.   Each SAU 24 school has a Special Education Coordinator that coordinates and manages all special education activities for referred and identified students in a manner that promotes student learning and improves academic achievement.  Each school also has a 504 Coordinator that manages the effective delivery of services and supports to eligible students with disabilities in compliance with Section 504.

  • Telephone extension with option to leave a voice mail message.
